Hainan University (HNU) and Missouri State University (MSU) held a signing ceremony on October 12, 2024 to formalize a new cooperation agreement. The event was attended by Brad Bodenhausen, Vice President of MSU, and Chen Jun, Vice President of HNU.

In the opening remarks, Chen Jun extended a warm welcome to the MSU delegation. He briefed them on the recent advancements HNU has made in academic discipline construction, faculty development, sci-tech innovation, and international cooperation and exchanges against the backdrop of building Hainan Free Trade Port. Besides current programs in management-related majors, he anticipated that cooperation could also involve science, engineering, agriculture, medicine etc.
Brad Bodenhausen commended HNU for its leapfrog development and introduced MSU’s history, scale of operation, and key academic disciplines. He also shared MSU’s cooperation with other Chinese universities and expected deeper collaboration with HNU in faculty training and joint education programs.
Signing Ceremony
During their visit, the MSU delegation toured the HNU History Museum and Mission Hills Campus. They also met with the representatives from the School of International Tourism and Public Administration. Two sides explored different kinds of joint programs in Tourism Management and Hospitality Management, and talked about the details, including admission requirements, curriculum design, and tuition fees.
Representatives from MSU’s Department of Strategy and Innovation, Community and Global Partnerships, as well as HNU’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange and the School of International Tourism and Public Administration, were also present at the signing ceremony.
