The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) released its latest world rankings on October 15, with Lin Shidong, a freshman majoring in Leisure Sports at Hainan University (HNU), climbing to No. 2 in the men’s singles category. This rise marks a new high for Lin, following his stellar performance at the 2024 Asian Table Tennis Championships.

Taking place from October 6 to 13 in Astana, Kazakhstan, the Championships saw Lin clinch two gold medals in mixed doubles and men’s team events, and one silver in men’s singles. His partner, Kuai Man, also a 2024 undergraduate in Leisure Sports at HNU, claimed three medals, including one gold in mixed doubles, one silver in women’s team, and one bronze in women’s doubles.
