Fujian Yueshan Environmental Technology Donates RMB 1.6 Million to HNU

On February 21, 2023, Hainan University held a donation ceremony to celebrate the donation of RMB 1.6 million from Fujian Yueshan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., which will be used to establish a Yueshan Endeavor Scholarship. Mr. Lin Daotong (Plant Protection '90), Chairman of Yueshan Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Professor Luo Qingming, President of Hainan University and academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Ms. Yu Huamei, Director of the Office of Alumni Relations and Advancement (Center for Overseas Hainanese Friendship) were present at the ceremony.

At the ceremony, Professor Luo presented the donation certificate to Mr. Lin. Mr. Chen Mingbao, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC HNU Committee and Chairman of the Education Foundation, signed the donation agreement with Ms. Lin Hui, Deputy General Manager of the company, and Mr. Chen accepted the donation check on behalf of the university. Professor Luo and Mr. Lin presented the certificates to students who won the scholarship. Li Chengui, a senior life sciences major, Haide College, and Jia Yingxue, a senior forestry major, Tanya College, gave speeches as the award-winning representatives.

Ms. Sun Lihong (English ’93), Mr. Li Jiezhi (Tropical Machinery ‘90), director of Yueshan Environmental Technology, and heads of departments and colleges, and representatives of teachers and students attended the donation ceremony.

After the ceremony, Mr. Lin was invited to give a speech on the theme of “Igniting Hope and Winning the Future” at the fifth Alumni Forum. He shared his unforgettable experiences on Danzhou campus, and his experiences and insights from starting and building his business. He encouraged students to make the most of their college life to acquire knowledge, to foster talents and skills, to find their goals and purse them. He also called on students to combine their dreams with social demands and contribute to China in the new era by using the knowledge, wisdom, and skills acquired at HNU.
