Schramm-Wölk congratulated Hainan University on its remarkable achievements in recent years. With a strong commitment to university-enterprise cooperation and research commercialization, BiUH hopes to deepen cooperation with HNU by leveraging their respective resource advantages. The two universities will promote the cooperation in teacher-student exchanges, joint scientific research, and talent training, to pioneer new models of industry-academia-research integration, thereby achieving mutual success and advancing the internationalization of higher education in Hainan.
Li Hu extended a warm welcome to Schramm-Wölk and her delegation, and introduced Hainan University’s recent development in terms of school history, talent training, scientific research innovation, international cooperation, and school-running conditions. He emphasized that the university’s educational strength has been significantly enhanced in recent years—it has entered the QS Asian University Rankings for the first time, ranking 86th among mainland Chinese universities, with multiple core school-running indicators among the top universities in China. He said that striving to build a comprehensive, research-oriented, and international “Double First-Class” university, HNU implements an open strategy, with a focus on serving Belt and Road initiatives and specializing in collaboration with tropical countries and regions. He hoped that taking this exchange as an opportunity, both parties would learn from each other, carry out in-depth cooperation, and jointly promote the high-quality development of higher education in Hainan.
