On the afternoon of September 26, Li Yufei, President of Qiongtai Normal University(QNU), led a delegation to visit Hainan University(HNU). A symposium was held in the Multifunction Hall of Siyuan Building. Li Hu, Chairman of the HNU Council, attended the meeting.

President Li Yufei extended sincere gratitude to HNU for the substantial support and assistance it has provided to QNU in recent years, especially in the areas of talent exchanges and research projects. Having achieved notable progress across multiple core educational indicators and secured significant accomplishments in various fields, HNU has served as a strong source of inspiration. Additionally, he noted that QNU looks to learn from the enterprising drive of HNU’s administrative team, as well as its reforms and innovations in teaching system. Finally, President Li voiced his expectation for strengthened exchanges and collaboration between the two universities across such areas as discipline development, talent cultivation, and evaluation system for undergraduate teaching.

Li Hu extended a warm welcome to Li Yufei and his delegation. He offered an overview of HNU’s recent progress in key areas including talent cultivation, scientific research innovation, faculty development, international cooperation and exchanges, as well as the upgrading of teaching facilities and academic standards. Notably, this August, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) released the outcomes for the 2025 centralized application cycle. HNU had 315 projects granted, marking a historic milestone for the university.

Li Hu affirmed the HNU’s confidence in advancing high-quality development towards its goal of building itself into a world-class institution—an effort underpinned by the leadership of the CPC Hainan Provincial Committee and the Hainan Provincial People’s Government, alongside support from peer universities. He further expressed his hope that both universities would fully leverage their respective roles within Hainan Province's “1+2+X” higher education framework and work together to advance the high-quality development of education in the province.

The participants also held in-depth discussions on ideological and political education, party building, cadre cultivation, faculty team development, talent recruitment and development, and digital transformation in education. Prior to the meeting, Luo Qingming,President of HNU and Member of Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), met with Li Yufei and his delegation.

Following the symposium, Li Yufei and his delegation, accompanied by Li Hu, visited the Integrated Scenarios Exhibition for Collaborative Innovation Centers of Hainan University to observe the university’s advancements in research commercialization and high-quality development initiatives.
