August 27, 2025 — The National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) has announced the review results for its 2025 centralized application cycle. Hainan University set a new record by securing 315 funded projects. This marks an increase of 49 projects (an 18.4% growth) over the previous year, with an average funding rate of 20.24%.

Nationwide, the NSFC received 432,434 applications during the centralized acceptance period, of which 53,159 were approved. Projects of other categories during this window remain under review.
