From August 10 to 13, the national finals of the Application Track of the 8th National Undergraduate Embedded Chip and System Design Competition were held in Nanjing. The “Intelligent Unmanned Systems” undergraduate team from the School of Information and Communication Engineering at Hainan University—comprising Liu Jiajun, Lei Lijing, and Liu Xin, under the guidance of professors Guo Dongsheng and Huang Fei—won the first prize. In addition, other teams from Hainan University secured one second prize and two third prizes.

The competition, organized by the China Education Society of Electronics and co-hosted by Southeast University and the Nanjing Jiangbei New Area Administrative Committee, is classified as a Category A national competition. The competition consists of three tracks: the Application Track, the Chip Design Track, and the FPGA Innovation Design Track. It attracted 32,388 students in 11,800 teams from 735 universities nationwide. After rigorous regional preliminaries, semi-finals, and the national finals, 158 first prizes, 311 second prizes, and 550 third prizes were awarded.
