On the afternoon of July 14, an FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization) delegation headed by Assistant Director-General Thanawat Tiensin visited HNU. President Luo Qingming, also a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, met with the delegation at the International Academic Exchange Center.

Tiensin appreciated the warm reception and commended HNU’s rapid development. He introduced the FAO, “One Health” approach and the intention of this visit, noting that FAO is committed to promoting the development of agrifood systems and anticipates cooperation with HNU in key areas such as research collaboration, sci-tech achievement commercialization, and talent nurturing.
President Luo extended his cordial welcome and elaborated on HNU’s development blueprint, academic discipline construction, and international cooperation. He stressed HNU’s readiness to work with FAO and expand cooperation across broader areas in diversified formats. He invited FAO to join the League of Tropical Universities and foster cross-disciplinary collaboration and innovation, thereby driving industry development through talent nurturing, and pushing the “One Health” governance agenda.
