Hainan University Hosts 2025 Campus Open Day and Joint University Admissions Fair

On June 21, Hainan University, in partnership with 22 “Double First-Class” universities from other provinces and local peers, hosted a Campus Open Day and a Joint University Admissions Fair at the Multi-functional Stadium, under the theme of “Coconut Breeze Carries Lofty Ambitions, Hainan University Unveils New Horizons”. Welcomed onto the campus, over 2,000 prospective students and their parents immersed themselves in an all-dimensional exploration of the university’s teaching and scientific research environment, facilities, school-running characteristics, and educational achievements. Zhang Jiyou, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, and Zou Yonghua, Vice President of HNU, attended the event.

Zhang Jiyou delivered a welcome address, extending an open call to prospective students nationwide. He highlighted Hainan University’s high-quality and leap-frog development in recent years—evidenced by breakthroughs in talent cultivation, faculty strength, and disciplinary construction. Cordially inviting outstanding prospective students to join Hainan University, he called on them to contribute their youthful energy during this pivotal phase as the university accelerates toward becoming a comprehensive, research-oriented, and international “Double First-Class” university. HNU’s mission is strategically aligned with the development of the globally influential Hainan Free Trade Port with Chinese Characteristics.

Zou Yonghua delivered a presentation report focusing on the university’s school-running characteristics, talent cultivation, and undergraduate admissions.

At the Multi-functional Stadium, HNU schools set up 78 creative exhibition zones for their undergraduate programs, offering admissions consultation services and comprehensive information on admissions policies, program features, and career prospects to prospective students and their parents.

It is officially confirmed that Hainan University’s undergraduate enrollment plan for 2025 targets 9,100 students—a further expansion of 100 students following last year’s 800-student increase, cumulatively raising enrollment by 900 students. Notably, two new majors—Marine Fishery Science & Technology and E-Commerce (Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education)—have been added to align with national strategic needs and the development demands of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
