On November 21, a delegation from Côte d’Ivoire’s National School of Statistics and Applied Economics (École Nationale Supérieure de Statistique et d'Economie Appliquée, ENSEA), led by HOUNDOGA Ahouedoke Fréjus Ferry, Director of Undergraduate Academic Affairs of ENSEA, visited Hainan University (HNU). Xu Miao, Deputy Director of HNU’s Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, met with the visitors.

HNU Vice President Liu Qian led a delegation to Côte d’Ivoire in August this year and established friendly ties with ENSEA. The return visit by the ENSEA delegation aimed to strengthen mutual understanding, deepen collaboration, and formalize the partnership by signing a memorandum of understanding (MOU).

During their visit, the delegation toured the History Museum, gaining an in-depth understanding of HNU’s history, academic strengths, faculty development, talent fostering, research achievements, and professional services for various organizations. The delegation also visited the School of Mathematics and Statistics and the International Business School (IBS). Liu Aming, Associate Dean of the School of Mathematics and Statistics gave a briefing on the School’s development before showing them around its integrated labs. Xu Nengrui, Associate Dean of the IBS, introduced the School’s Department of Agricultural and Forestry Economics, sharing the experiences of leveraging Hainan’s high-yield tropical agricultural resources to advance industry-university-research (IUR) integration.

The visit marked a significant step towards deeper bilateral cooperation, with both sides showing enthusiasm for future joint programs. Representatives from the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange, the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and the International Business School also participated in these activities.
