On November 22, a delegation headed by Prof. Pankaj Sah, Member of the Australian Academy of Science (AAS) and Director of the Queensland Brain Institute (QBI) at the University of Queensland (UQ) visited Hainan University (HNU). President Luo Qingming, also Member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) met with the visitors in the Administration Building.

During the meeting, Prof. Pankaj Sah thanked HNU for the hospitality and commended its rapid development. He provided an overview of the UQ and QBI and expressed his readiness to collaborate with HNU, especially in faculty and student exchanges, joint education programs, and scientific research.
President Luo extended a cordial welcome to the Australian delegation and introduced HNU’s development strategies, disciplinary strengths, talent acquisition, and international cooperation. He emphasized HNU’s dedication to nurturing globally competitive talent through opening up and bringing in high-quality international resources. He expressed optimism about future collaboration with the UQ in such areas as academic exchanges, joint education, and research initiatives.

As part of the visit, the delegation toured the HNU History Museum and the Pico Electron Microscopy Center.
The event was also attended by QBI’s senior representatives and HNU’s Vice President Liu Qian as well as the heads of relevant departments.
