A delegation led by Denis Kravchenko, First Deputy Chairman of Russia’s State Duma Committee on Economic Policy, visited Hainan University (HNU) on November 15. Fu Xuanguo, Secretary of CPC HNU Committee met with the visitors at HNU’s International Academic Exchange Center.

During the meeting, Denis Kravchenko outlined the purpose of the visit and introduced his committee. He lauded the impressive achievements of HNU, expressing confidence in the potential for collaboration in areas such as aerospace, cultural exchange, and talent fostering.

Fu Xuanguo provided an overview of HNU’s recent development and highlighted the cooperation with the Russian counterparts. He emphasized HNU’s strategic use of the Hainan Free Trade Port policies to drive its development as a comprehensive, research-oriented, and internationalized “Double First-Class” university. Fu also advocated deeper bilateral cooperation, leveraging respective strengths to create new opportunities for China-Russia collaboration.

Before the meeting, the Russian delegation paid a visit to the History Museum and learned about HNU’s history, academic disciplines, faculty development, and talent fostering programs.

The talks were also attended by Vice President Li Buhong and relevant department heads.
