PNG-UNRE Delegation Visits HNU


On the afternoon of June 28, John Momis, Honorary Chancellor, and Aisak Pue, Executive Chancellor of the University of Natural Resources and Environment (UNRE) of Papua New Guinea (PNG), along with their delegation, visited Hainan University (HNU). Zhang Jiyou, Executive Deputy Secretary of the CPC HNU Committee, met with the visitors in Conference Room 402 of the Administration Building.

John Momis expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome from HNU. He gave an overview of PNG and the development of UNRE, and expressed his desire to learn from China’s educational progress. He looked forward to future exchanges and cooperation with HNU, hoping to learn from its educational practices and advanced technology.

Zhang welcomed the delegation and introduced HNU’s history, academic disciplines, international exchanges and cooperation projects. He emphasized HNU’s commitment to promoting educational exchanges and cooperation with UNRE, and invited it to join the League of Tropical Universities (LTU), hoping for cooperation in the fields of agricultural science and environmental science.

After the meeting, they toured HNU’s History Museum and visited the Laboratory of Rubber Production Biology, Institute of Tropical Agriculture and Forestry to learn more about HNU’s recent research achievements in natural rubber and related fields.
