From May 11 to 13, the 19th “Swan Cup” International College Students Intelligent Agricultural Equipment Innovation Competition (hereinafter referred to as the “Competition”) was held at Shihezi University in Xinjiang Uyghur Autonomous Region. After three rounds of competition, project titled “Spiral Imitation Intelligent Rubber Cutting Machine” led by Professor Zhang Xirui from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering at Hainan University won the first prize, and two other projects, titled “Dual-Manipulator Mango Picking Robot” and “Self-Propelled Intelligent Rubber Cutting Robot”, won the second prize.

The Competition, with the theme of “innovation energizes the agricultural equipment, intelligence leads the future”, was co-hosted by the International Commission of Agricultural and Biosystems Engineering (CIGR), Chinese Society of Agricultural Machinery (CSAM), Chinese Society of Agricultural Engineering (CSAE), Synergistic Innovation Center of Modern Agricultural Equipment (SICAE), and International University Consortium for Agricultural Engineering (IUCAE). A total of 453 entries from 118 universities in China advanced to the finals, both the number of participating universities and entries reached a record high in the history of the Competition.

The Competition, now on the list of national college student competition rankings, aims to promote the cultivation of innovative and entrepreneurial talents in the field of agricultural equipment engineering, and international exchanges and cooperation between students majoring in agricultural engineering by developing students’ innovative spirit and practical skills to inspire innovation and entrepreneurship.
