On December 19th, Luo Qingming, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences and president of Hainan University, received Ho Leung Ho Lee Award in Beijing for his outstanding contribution to the science and technology development. The award is sponsored by Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation.
The Ho Leung Ho Lee Foundation, established in 1994 by Hong Kong patriotic financiers Ho Sin Hang, Leung Kau Kui, Ho Tim, and Lee Quo Wei, aims to promote China’s modernization by conferring awards to outstanding Chinese scientists. The Foundation’s practice serves as a successful example in setting up science and technology awards with non-governmental resources, playing a vital role in tapping China’s potential for technological development and nurturing talents for independent innovation.
