On November 30th, the final of the 19th "Lilü Cup" Moot Court Competition of National Universities was held online. The representative team of Law School of Hainan University won the championship and won the "Best Plaint" award, achieving a historic breakthrough. Wang Yingqi, a student of law major enrolled in 2019, won the title of "Best Debater" in the competition.
The "Lilü Cup" Moot Court Competition of National Universities, founded in 2003, is hosted by the Law School of Tsinghua University and is one of the most influential university moot court competitions in China. Each year, the participating team is composed of representatives from the top law schools of universities in the country, and the competition judges are composed of authoritative scholars, judges, prosecutors, and lawyers from the domestic legal theory and practice fields.
This "Lilü Cup" moot court competition is divided into two categories: plaint and court debate. A total of 40 law schools from universities such as Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Shanghai Jiaotong University, Zhejiang University, Wuhan University, Jilin University, Xiamen University, Nankai University, China University of Political Science and Law, and Shandong University participated in the competition. The competition was released in September this year and lasted for nearly 3 months.
It is reported that in this competition, Liu Rong, Yang Fang, Liu Fangyong from Law School of Hainan University served as guiding teachers, while students Wang Yingqi, Liu Han, Chen Jiaying, Chen Liuwei, Sun Yuyan, Deng Han, Wang Qianyu and other students participated as team members. They were fully committed and actively prepared, and after submitting a plaint and seven court debates, they won the championship with an unbeaten record of seven victories in seven matches.
