Sangu Fast Hotpot, an alumni enterprise, wins title of Top 10 Must-eats

The Second China Catering B2B Industry Conference, directed by China National Food Industry Association and Bureau of Economic and Information of Sichuan Province, was co-sponsored by Chengdu Food Industry Association, Sichuan Food Drink Industry Association, Sichuan Pre-made Food Industry Alliance, Red Star News and First Restaurant Information.

At the Second China Catering B2B Industry Conference and the China Catering Jade Plate Award Presentation ceremony, Sangu Fast Hotpot won the title of Top 10 Must-eats of Most Chengdu Flavor of the First China Catering Jade Plate Award. Based on the previous rankings of various brands provided by Eleme, the relevant indexes and rankings of brands on various major platforms, opinions of authoritative media and experts, and consumers’ evaluations, the organizing committee, after careful evaluation, passed the name-list of winning brands and enterprises of the first China Catering Jade Plate Award. Notably in 2022, a year full of uncertainties and fierce competition, Sangu Fast Hotpot, as the leading brand of fast hotpot, pressed ahead with innovation instead of being crowded out of markets, showing its strong brand strength. Moreover, Sangu Fast Hotpot has carried out digital reform to promote the development of fast hotpot categories in order to improve its core competitivness. The award is a testament to the favor and recognition of the catering industry, the judges and the consumers. With these achievements, Sangu Fast Hotpot well deserved a place on the TOP10 list.

Alumnus profile

Cao Min is an alumnus of Class 1993, majoring in food engineering in Hainan University. In January 2008, he opened his first restaurant in Deyang, Sichuan province. He named his restaurant Sangu Fast Hotpot for he was deeply impressed by the story “Three Visits to the Thatched Cottage” in Romance of The Three Kingdoms which he has been fond of since childhood (“Three Visits” is pronounced as “Sangu” in Chinese). Founded in 2008, Sangu Fast Hotpot has been popular among consumers and highly recognized by the catering industry and the media for 15 years. Besides, the brand stayed in the “2019-2020 China Restaurant Franchise TOP100 List”, and won the “2020 Top Three Brands of Fast Hotpot in China”, getting ahead of other sub-categories. Sangu Fast Hotpot has been expanding market in cities with great potential for fast hotpot, providing strong supply chain support and brand empowerment for entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams. In 2022, Sangu Fast Hotpot had more than 3,000 stores and more than 18,000 employees in over 300 cities across China, serving more than 200 million people each year.
