Ⅰ. Introduction

Hainan University is a comprehensive key university formed by the merger of the former South China Tropical Agricultural University and the former Hainan University in August 2007. It is a university on the list of world-class universities jointly supported by the Ministry of Education and the Hainan Provincial People's Government, and is a university.

The university seizes major opportunities yielded by "joint support by the Ministry of Education and Hainan Province" and "gathering the strength of the whole province to support Hainan University". Leveraging the geographical advantages of Hainan, the University has developed four distinctive educational characteristics of " tropical agriculture, marine science, tourism, and special economic zones ".

Following General Secretary Xi Jinping’s earnest instruction that “support Hainan University in developing world-class disciplines, Hainan University has positioned itself as the participant, think tank, incubator, and reserve team in the construction of Hainan Free Trade Port. With "supporting and leading, winning with characteristics, high-level cooperation, and opening-up and innovation" as the development concept, it has carried out the three major reforms " the full-credit system, the collegiate system and collaborative innovation centers”. The university adheres to the principle of "seeking support through service and development through contribution", and strives to create an atmosphere of "unity of knowledge and action, advocating academia, and pursuing excellence".

In recent years, the university has comprehensively strengthened the construction of basic disciplines, and the development of physics is particularly rapid. The Department of Physics was established in 2019, the undergraduate program in Applied Physics was established in 2020, the Theoretical Physics Research Center was established in 2022, and the School of Physics and Optoelectronic Engineering was established in July 2023. At present, there are 54 full-time teachers (including one academician of the European Academy of Sciences, one national outstanding youth, two national outstanding youth, and two overseas high-level outstanding young talents) in the school. The main focuses of research are quantum information, cold atomic physics, atomic and molecular physics, optical field regulation, micro nano optics, and condensed matter physics. Over the past three years, the school has published more than 30 high-quality papers in top professional journals such as Physical Review Letters, Science Advances, and Science China Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy and Nano Letters, and 23 projects have won support from National Natural Science Foundation (including 1 key joint fund support project and 5 general projects). In order to meet the further development of the discipline, the school decides to recruit a group of outstanding talents in the fields of physics and optoelectronic engineering.

Ⅱ. Disciplinary Requirements (recruitment in key areas, but not limited to the following areas)

1. Theoretical physics: Fundamentals of quantum mechanics, gravity theory, non-equilibrium statistical physics, mathematical physics, etc.

2. Precision measurement physics: Cold atom physics, quantum optics, quantum information processing, atom and molecular physics, etc.

3. Optics: Imaging optics, ultrafast optics, strong field physics and attosecond laser, metamaterial optics, micro-nano optics, deep-sea deep space information optics, etc.

4. Condensed matter physics: Low dimensional and surface physics, topology and quantum materials, electron correlated matters,etc.

5. Optoelectronic engineering: Optical communication devices and systems, optoelectronic materials and devices, optoelectronic precision measurement and instruments, optoelectronic display technology, biomedical photonics, etc.

Ⅲ. Requirements

1. The applicants should possess a passion for higher education, abide by laws and regulations, have noble ideological and moral character, work in earnest, and possess good professional ethics, professional quality, and teamwork spirit.

2. The applicants should possess a professional background in physics or optoelectronic engineering, and obtain a doctoral degree.

3. The applicants have published high-quality research papers in important academic journals in the related fields, or made influential research work in the domestic and international academic circles.
