Chhorn Dalis, Executive Director and General Manager of Cambodia’s Kirirong Food Production Company (KFP), led a delegation to visit Hainan University (HNU) on October 9. They were warmly received by Zou Yonghua, Vice President of HNU.

Zou Yonghua extended a warm welcome to the KFP delegation. He highlighted the HNU’s achievements in recent years, particularly in expanding the scale of operation, strengthening the development of academic disciplines, optimizing resource allocation and promoting international cooperation and exchanges. Zou emphasized HNU’s commitment to fostering academic research and industrial development through international collaboration, noting the establishment of the School of Tropical Fruit and Vegetable Studies in Baoting County, Hainan. He explained how Baoting’s rich natural resources and agricultural advantages had paved the way for the significant development of the tropical fruit processing industry.
Chhorn Dalis expressed her sincere gratitude for the warm reception and praised HNU’s research achievements and international influence in tropical agriculture. She stated that KFP is eager to explore collaboration opportunities with HNU, particularly in tropical fruit processing, preservation technology innovation, and market expansion to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
Both sides viewed this meeting as an important opportunity to deepen university-industry cooperation. They agreed to leverage the League of Tropical Universities (LTU) to launch more substantive joint projects. Bilateral talks focused on advancing mango processing technology, developing preservation techniques, expanding markets, and exploring brand collaboration. Both parties also expressed a strong desire to engage in technical exchanges, training programs, and the commercialization of research findings.
