The Computer Science and Technology (CST) program at Hainan University stands as a top-tier national undergraduate program. It sets its sights on the forefront of the CST discipline, with a primary focus on cutting-edge research in the field of computing. The program has initiated a transformation in talent development, optimized faculty team construction, and strengthened the seamless integration of "industry, academia, and research," effectively forging an "education-research-industry" ecosystem in the field of information science. Its mission is to cultivate high-caliber individuals well-versed in information technology research and application, driving forward the economic and social development of Hainan Province and the nation. Faculty Excellence
The School of CST takes immense pride in its dedicated team of full-time educators, each of whom brings a wealth of experience in academic instruction, scientific research, and practical expertise to our institution. Their impressive academic achievements, combined with a diverse range of experiences and backgrounds, truly set them apart. Among these distinguished individuals, Professor Laurence T. Yang shines as an exceptional figure. He holds the esteemed titles of being an Academician of the Canadian National Engineering Academy, a member of the Canadian Academy of Engineering, and an Academician of the European Academy of Sciences. Professor Yang is also recognized as a Fellow of IEEE/IET, a prominent figure in the international education sector, a globally esteemed scholar, and an ACM Distinguished Scientist.
The School of CST currently boasts a faculty of 81 members, out of which 66 are dedicated full-time educators. This accomplished team includes an Academician, two nationally recognized experts, a promising young talent with international exposure, and five distinguished professionals in Hainan Province, each bringing substantial international experience to the table. Complementing this impressive roster is the "Thousand Talents Special" initiative of Hainan Province, which further enhances the team's strength with 24 exceptional individuals. Among them are 18 senior instructors and 33 associate professors, including a recipient of Hainan Province's "515 Talent Project" award, a winner of the "Baosteel Outstanding Teacher Award," and a locally acclaimed teaching mentor.
Research andDevelopment Excellence
The School of CST possesses a robust academic and research support platform, boasting two Hainan Provincial Academician Innovation Centers (first batch), one nationally recognized "Blockchain + Trade Finance" innovative application pilot unit, and the establishment of 18 collaborative industry-academic-research and training bases. These include prominent collaborations like the Hainan University-Baidu Pine Nut Joint Practice Base for Industry-Education Integration, the Ministry of Education's Industry-Education-Research Empowerment and Innovation Digital Talent Training Base, the Ministry of Education's Blockchain and Intelligent Control Technology Practice Base, the Hainan University School of Computer Science and Technology-Beijing Silan Technology Co., Ltd. Supercomputing Joint Laboratory, the Hainan University-China Electronics Innovation Research Institute PSK System Ecological Innovation Laboratory, the Hainan University-China Unicom (Hainan) Industrial Internet Innovation Laboratory, the Hainan University-Xinyuan Microelectronics (Hainan) Co., Ltd. Smart Healthcare Innovation Laboratory, and the Hainan University-Hainan Newcon Information Systems Co., Ltd. Smart Data Laboratory, among others. Furthermore, our institution actively participates in the collaborative construction of the National Key Laboratory for Marine Resource Utilization in the South China Sea and maintains a Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory for Internet Information Retrieval, a Hainan Provincial Blockchain Technology Engineering Research Center, and a Hainan Provincial Computer Foundation Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, in addition to 21 other teaching and research laboratories and centers. These facilities cover over 3000 square meters and house equipment worth more than 80 million RMB. We have also established profound collaborative relationships with research institutions and enterprises such as Hainan Port and Shipping Holding Co., Ltd., and the Oxford (Hainan) Blockchain Research Institute.
Our school is actively strengthening international exchanges and educational partnerships with the aim of broadening students' global perspectives and advancing academic excellence. We have successfully hosted prestigious events like the IEEE HyperIntelligence 2021 International Conference, which included the renowned CCF C-class conference IEEE HPCC 2021, and the IEEE Smart World 2022 International Conference, featuring the esteemed CCF C-class conference IEEE UIC 2022.Moreover, we have forged collaborative doctoral and master's programs with esteemed institutions across the globe, including the University of Warwick in the United Kingdom (2022 QS ranking: 61), the University of Exeter in the United Kingdom (2022 QS ranking: 149), Universiti Putra Malaysia (2023 QS ranking: 123), Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (2022 QS ranking: 191), and Cork University in Ireland (2022 QS ranking: 298). We are currently in discussions for multiple joint educational initiatives in high-demand fields such as big data, artificial intelligence, and robotics.Our school is committed to expanding comprehensive integrated educational partnerships at the undergraduate, master's, and doctoral levels, making a significant contribution to the development of highly skilled international professionals for the Hainan Free Trade Port initiative.

This initiative extends an invaluable opportunity to exceptional undergraduate scholars to pursue postgraduate degrees, negating the need for an entrance examination. Annually, a minimum of 30 exceptional undergraduate students are recommended for advanced studies at esteemed institutions, including "985" universities and the esteemed Chinese Academy of Sciences. The program consistently maintains a remarkable postgraduate enrollment rate, averaging approximately 30% each year. When considering employment rates, pertinence to the industry, and career prospects, the program's graduates consistently demonstrate an exceptional caliber that harmonizes closely with the program's educational objectives.
Degree Conferment
Students majoring in Computer Science and Technology will be conferred with a Bachelor of Engineering degree.

In 2023, we are offering 180 admission slots as part of the national higher education enrollment program. We are pleased to announce that all admissions will be under the first-tier admission category. Tuition and Fees
Our annual tuition fee for the upcoming academic year is $4,600. New students are required to make the full payment upon enrollment to complete the admission process.
