The School of Computer Science and Technology has an accomplished scientific research team with extensive experience, high academic attainments, a well-balanced age and academic structure. Leveraging the strengths of computer science and technology, the team focuses on regional characteristics such as cyber-physical-social intelligence and blockchain control. They’ve made significant progress in six research directions: knowledge modeling and processing, blockchain and intelligent control, cyber-physical-social system and intelligence, future network and security, intelligent service and data engineering, and intelligent software and systems.

In recent years, the college has established three high-profile research platforms, including provincial and ministerial key laboratories and engineering(technology) centers. These efforts have yielded numerous major scientific research and innovation achievements, invention technology patents and major research achievements.

As of 2023, the funding for scientific research projects has reached 31.5436 million yuan, including a national Science and Technology Innovation 2030 major project, they also attained recognition with 2 national projects/topics such as National Key Research and Development Plan and National Natural Science Foundation Key projects, as well as 19 National Natural Science Foundation of China and a significant provincial project.

Their high-level research paper publication and awards includes over 230 publications in the SCI and EI databases, and 55 papers in the first and second districts of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. They’ve obtained more than 50 national invention patents and received 8 provincial awards, such as the Hainan Provincial Science and Technology Progress Award, the 10th Wu Wenjun Artificial Intelligence Technology Invention Award, the Most beautiful science and Technology workers in Hainan Province, and Young Science and Technology Experts in Hainan Provinces.

In the future, the College is committed to aligning with national strategies and regional economic development. They’ll continue to leverage their research team platform, taking advantage of the international scientific research cooperation, and strive to improve scientific research results, and build a more “combat-ready” scientific research team.
