Hainan University Software Engineering (NIIT) has been officially enrolled since 2018. The class adopts a cooperative education model with the National Institute of Information Technology (NIIT) of India, introduces NIIT’s educational resources and cutting-edge curriculum system, and adopts bilingual education. Teaching and project-based internship practical training methods are used to improve students' practical ability and scientific and technological innovation ability and to cultivate high-quality international software engineering and Internet innovation talents. In addition to obtaining the graduation certificate from Hainan University, the graduates can also obtain the NIIT certification to improve their employability.
I. Introduction of College
The College of Computer Science and Technology of Hainan University (hereinafter referred to as the “College”) was officially established in March 2021, which is one of the major engineering colleges of Hainan University with strong comprehensive strength and complete disciplinary system. It was developed based on the former computer program of the College of Science and Technology of Hainan University and the former computer application program of the Computing Center of South China Tropical Agricultural University. Closely centred on the development framework of "One Body, Two Wings and Two Platforms", with characteristic education as the main body, international schooling and industrial incubation as the two wings, and scientific research and public service platform as the foundation, the college is striving to serve the country's major strategic needs in the new era and is anchored on Hainan characteristics. The free trade port construction practice is a new demonstration of China’s higher education reform. The college has a team of full-time teachers with rich teaching, scientific research and practical experience, high academic attainments, and reasonable academic and age structures. The college currently has 81 faculty members, including 66 full-time teachers, 24 high-level talents with overseas study experience or overseas work and training experience, 18 senior teachers, and 33 deputy senior teachers. Currently there are 1 academician, 2 national specially-appointed experts, 1 overseas outstanding young person, 5 leading talents in Hainan Province, 2 candidates for Hainan Province’s “Thousand Talents Project”, 1 candidate for Hainan Province’s “515 Talent Project”, and 1 "Baosteel Excellent Teacher Award" and 1 provincial famous teaching teacher.
The College has a good teaching and research support platform, it has been approved as 2 platforms of Hainan Provincial Academician Team Innovation Center (1st batch), 1 pilot unit of the national “Blockchain + Trade finance” innovation application and established a joint school-enterprise experiment. There are 18 joint industry- university-research training bases, mainly including Hainan University-Baidu SongGuo Industry-Education Integration Practice Base, Ministry of Education Industry-Teaching-Research Integration Empowerment Innovation Digital Talent Training Practice Base, Ministry of Education Blockchain and Intelligent Management and Control Technology Practice Base, Hainan University School of Computer Science and Technology-Beijing Silang Technology Co., Ltd. Supercomputing Joint Laboratory, Hainan University-China Electronics Joint Innovation Research Institute PSK System Ecological Innovation Laboratory, Hainan University-China Unicom (Hainan) Innovation Research Institute Industrial Internet Innovation Laboratory, Hainan University-VeriSilicon Microelectronics (Hainan) Co., Ltd. Smart Healthcare Innovation Laboratory, Hainan University-Hainan Newcome Information Systems Co., Ltd. Smart Data Laboratory, etc. At the same time, it participates in the joint construction of the National Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in the South China Sea, and there are 21 various teaching and research laboratories (centers) such as the Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Internet Information Retrieval, the Hainan Provincial Blockchain Technology Engineering Research Center, and the Hainan Provincial Computer Basic Experiment Teaching Demonstration Center, covering an area of more than 3,000 square meters, and the total value of instruments and equipment is more than 80 million yuan.

1. High-quality dual certificates: students who complete the content stipulated in the school’s training program and meet the graduation requirements will be awarded the undergraduate diploma of Hainan University; those who meet the requirements for degree conferment will be awarded the bachelor's degree certificate of Hainan University. Students who have completed the NIIT embedded courses and pass the assessment can also obtain the NIIT Software Engineer (DNIIT) international certification.
