1. Mechanical Engineering (080200) for Master's Degree

Introduction

Guided by the action program of the National Strategy of Manufacturing Power "Made in China 2025", the School aims to serve the development of 12 key industries including "Tropical Agriculture", "Low-Carbon Manufacturing" and "Marine Equipment" in Hainan Province, and focuses on Hainan University schooling characteristics of "Tropical", "Marine", "Tourism", and "Special Zone". Our School proposes the construction idea of mechanical engineering discipline featuring "Tropical Agriculture" and "Tropical Ocean", aims to provide mechanical engineering technology equipment, and cultivate mechanical engineering talents for the development of the "Tropical Agriculture" and "Topical Ocean", and focuses on developing the discipline direction towards mechanical manufacturing and automation, mechanical and electronic engineering, automotive engineering and tropical agricultural electromechanical equipment and technology, accumulating scientific research bases in marine electromechanical engineering and equipment technology, tropical agricultural intelligent equipment technology and automotive energy-saving and emission reduction technology, and forming regional characteristics and advantages.

Training Objectives

We aim to cultivate senior specialists in agricultural mechanization engineering who serve the construction of socialist modernization and develop morality, intelligence, physique in an all-round way. The specific requirements are as follows:

Students are required to establish the ideology of patriotism and collectivism, master the basic principles of dialectical materialism and historical materialism, and build scientific worldview and methodology;establish good professionalism and scientific ethics;develop good conduct, and sound mind and body.

Students are required to adapt to the needs of scientific progress and social development, master solid theoretical basis, systematic specialized knowledge and modern experimental methods and skills in this discipline, to read scientific and technological information and literature in foreign languages of this field, and to engage in scientific research or independently undertake specialized technical work;build up a rigorous research style, good cooperation spirit and strong academic communication skills.

Students are required to possess organization and management skills in scientific research or specialized engineering and technical work.

Research Direction

Mechanical Manufacture and Automation

To provide technical support for equipment manufacturing and cultivate senior specialists for the implementation of the strategy "Strong Marine Province" and "12 Key Industries", the research direction aims to focus on technology study on the design and manufacture of low-carbon equipment, micro-nano manufacturing and energy storage devices, parts processing and additive manufacturing, digital design and manufacturing, and gradually forms a research force which is characterized in with obvious multidisciplinary interdisciplinary characteristics in multi-interdisciplinary subject intersected by machinery-materials-control, structured with reasonable team, and closely around the frontiers of the discipline and the development demands of Hainan province, ultimately forming scientific research strengths in the seawater desalination equipment, marine equipment anti-corrosion, marine energy storage devices, machining technology and materials, mechanical automation equipment manufacturing and other aspects.

(2) Mechatronics Engineering

To provide mechatronics technology, equipment and senior specialists for the development of "Tropical Agriculture" and "Tropical Ocean" in Hainan province, this research direction integrates mechanical, electronic, electrical, computer, detection and sensing, control, network and other technologies, focuses on study of mechatronics system control and automation, sensing and measurement, dynamics and control of electromechanical systems, signal and image processing and other technologies. It conducts design, manufacturing and integration of electromechanical equipment and systems for sensing monitoring and remote control of tropical crop planting environment, rapid diagnosis of rubber trees nutrients in near-infrared spectroscopy, and monitoring and controlling of offshore environment and aquaculture, ultimately forming scientific research advantages.

(3) Automotive Engineering

To provide low-carbon, high-efficiency, intelligent and safe automotive engineering support and cultivate senior specialists for the construction of the international tourism island and ecological environmental protection in our province, this research direction comprehensively applies theories and technologies related to mechanics, mechanical design, electronic information, computer and control, energy and chemical industry, focuses on the research of energy-saving and emission-reduction technologies related to vehicle design and manufacturing, automatic control, performance testing and application. It has accumulated scientific research bases and formed strengths in energy-saving and new energy automobiles, vehicle power characteristics and control, automotive emission and pollution control, automotive lightweight technology, automotive application and evaluation technology under tropical environment.

(4) Electromechanical Equipment and Technology for Tropical Agriculture

To provide electromechanical equipment and technical support for the development of "Tropical Efficient Agriculture" in our province, to improve the production efficiency and quality of agricultural products, and to cultivate high-level specialists, the research direction focuses on the design and manufacturing technology research of mechanization, automation and intelligent equipment throughout pre-production, during-production and post-production of the mass tropical crops by utilizing the methods of multiple disciplines, such as mechanical engineering, control engineering, agronomy and management. It has accumulated the scientific research foundation and formed strengths in natural rubber cutting, cassava picking and harvesting, banana straw returning to the field and fiber extraction, conservation tillage, and biomass energy extraction and reuse.

2. Agricultural Mechanization Engineering (082801) for Master's Degree

Introduction

The Agricultural Mechanization Engineering major at Hainan University, based on mechanical engineering and management theories, applies new technologies including information technology, automatic control technology and biotechnology, takes "improving the productivity of tropical agriculture and promoting the high quality, high yield, high efficiency and sustainable development of tropical agricultural production as its main goal, and studies new technologies, new techniques and new equipment in mechanized agricultural production systems, with the goal of meeting the significant demands on increasing farmers income and accelerating the construction of modern tropical agriculture. The major takes the research on mechanization technology and equipment throughout tropical crop production as the main line, including researches on mechanization production technology and equipment of major tropical crops, primary processing engineering of tropical agricultural products, comprehensive utilization of tropical crop wastes, precision agriculture technology and intelligent equipment, and quality tracing of characteristic tropical agricultural products.

The major has started to enroll undergraduate students in agricultural mechanization since 1981 and has been training postgraduates since 2007. The major, supported by strong faculty with academic echelon featuring reasonable age structure, and young academic leaders and backbones rapidly growing, has provincial-level specialty of agricultural mechanization and automation, and establishes provincial-level experimental teaching center of mechatronics engineering, mechanical engineering training center, electrical and electronic experimental centers, as well as professional laboratories of mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and automotive engineering. The laboratory is equipped with advanced equipment including X-ray stress tester, ultrasonic flaw detector, electronic universal testing machine, three-dimensional spatial drive control mechanism device, microcomputer-controlled torsion testing machine, four degrees of freedom mechanism drive, CNC machining centers, exhaust sampling analyzers, electromagnetic interference test receivers, chassis dynamometer, engine dynamometer, non-contact speedometer, environmental control equipment, virtual instrumentation system, wind-solar hybrid power generation system, frequency (spectrum) analyzer, PCB board system, high-precision LCR tester with the aim to meet the needs of teaching and research in this discipline.

Training Objectives

We aim to cultivate senior specialists in agricultural mechanization engineering who serve the construction of socialist modernization and develop morality, intelligence, physique in an all-round way. The specific requirements are as follows:

(1) Grasp Marxism-Leninism, Mao Zedong Thought, Deng Xiaoping Theory and Theory of Three Represents, support the Party's basic line and policies, comply with laws and regulations, and possess good characters, strong sense of enterprise, and spirits of teamwork and dedication to the agricultural mechanization engineering major.

(2) Master solid theories, and systematic professional knowledge and skills of the discipline; understand the development level of modern theories and technologies of the discipline, as well as the domestic and international development dynamics in the research direction; have the ability to engage in scientific research and independently undertake technical work; have good overall quality, a rigorous scientific attitude and a working style of linking theory with practice.

(3) Master a foreign language and proficiently apply them into the major.

(4) Have a healthy body and good mental quality.

Research Direction

(1) Mechanization technology and equipment for tropical agriculture

Tropical agricultural equipment mainly consists of tropical field machinery (tillage, planting, field management, harvesting), tropical agricultural products storage and processing machinery, and machinery for comprehensive utilization of tropical agricultural waste resources, covering all links in the pre-production, during-production and post-production of tropical agriculture. This research direction aims to improve the productivity of tropical agriculture and promote the quality, high yield, high efficiency and sustainable development of tropical agricultural production and conducts a study on full mechanization technology and equipment of tropical crop production by learning from and applying information technology, automatic control technology and biotechnology and other new technologies. It mainly consists of the following contents: ① mechanization technology and equipment related to planting of banana, cassava, coconut, sugar cane and other crops; ② mechanization harvesting technology and equipment related to banana, cassava, coconut, sugar cane and other crops; ③ mechanization treatment technology and equipment related to wastes of banana stalks, cassava stalks, coconut shells, and sugar cane bagasse leaves; ④ mechanization technology and equipment related to mid-cultivation management of banana, cassava, sugar cane and other crops.

(2) Automatic detection and control technology for tropical agriculture production process

Tropical agriculture production process is consisted of all links in the pre-production, during-production, post-production and product circulation of tropical agricultural production. This research direction aims to improve the precision planting of tropical crops, modernized field management, and automation processing of tropical agricultural products, as well as to ensure the quality and safety of tropical agricultural products, conducts a study on the automation throughout tropical agricultural production, solves low-level technology, performance and quality in the farming, management, harvesting, processing, product circulation of traditional tropical agriculture by drawing on and applying information technology, biotechnology, sensing and detection technology, automatic control technology and mechatronics technology. Main research contents: ① research on the information collection, transmission and application of special tropical crops growth and growth environment; ② research on the intelligent control technology for precision operation of special tropical crops; ③ research on the automation technology of special tropical agricultural products processing; ④ research on the standard, quality and safety testing technology and circulation supervision technology of special tropical agricultural products.

(3) Vehicle biomass energy technology

This research direction takes the tropical energy crops and tropical agricultural wastes with resource advantages in the tropical area as the object, draws on and applies theories and technologies of bioengineering, energy engineering, environmental engineering and agricultural biotechnology, and studies the energy utilization and application thereof based on the concept of "resourcing, minimization and reuse". Main research contents: (1) research on the physical and chemical properties of biomass fuels, and their influence on the combustion performance, power performance, economic performance and emission performance of automobile engines; (2) research on the physical and chemical properties of biomass resources including cassava stalks, banana stalks, sugarcane leaves, bagasse, coconut shells, and pineapple leaves in tropical agricultural areas, and residues of tropical forests; (3) research on the influence of physical and chemical properties of raw materials from tropical agricultural wastes on the molding, and development of solid molding equipment applicable to tropical crops.

3. Mechanical Engineering(085500) for Master's Degree

Introduction

The Mechanical major of Hainan University originated from the Tropical Crop Mechanization and Automation major in 1981. It was approved as the second-level discipline authorized to offer master degree program in Agricultural Mechanization Engineering in 2005, first-level discipline authorized to offer master degree program in Mechanical Engineering in 2018 and professional degree programs in Mechanical Major in 2021, and was included in Hainan provincial disciplines authorized to offer doctoral degree program and provincial-level characteristic key disciplines. Based on the regional characteristics and advantages of Hainan "International Free Trade Port", and guided by the action program of the National Strategy of Manufacturing Power, the major aims to serve the development of high-tech industries in Hainan Province, including "Marine Resources Development and Utilization", "Clean Energy Utilization", "Advanced Manufacturing" and "Tropical High-Efficiency Agriculture", and focuses on Hainan University schooling characteristics of "Tropical", "Marine", "Tourism", and "Special Zone". Supported by the computer, control engineering, energy power, agricultural engineering and multidisciplinary integration, it develops towards digitization, intellectualization, precision and ecologization and cultivates applied and compound high-level engineering technology and management talents engaged in clean energy utilization and green equipment technology, sensing and measuring and robot technology, intelligent transportation equipment technology, and manufacturing of tropical agricultural operation equipment.

Training Objectives

Cultivate applied and complex high-level engineering technology and management talents who love the country, support the Communist Party of China and the socialist system, serve the country and the people with a high sense of social responsibility, and possess good professional ethics, innovation ability and entrepreneurial spirit. The specific requirements are as follows:

(1) Grasp solid theoretical basis and broad professional knowledge in the major, have strong ability to solve practical problems, be able to undertake professional technical or management work, and be skilled in reading and translating materials in foreign language and preliminary writing in this direction.

(2) Cultivate scientific rigor and pragmatic learning attitude and work style, master basic methods and skills of scientific research, possess the spirit of innovation and good scientific research ethics, and the ability in applied research of mechanical engineering, and design, manufacturing, testing and control, use and maintenance, planning and management of mechanical equipment, and be familiar with the norms of the industry.

(3) Be able to apply theories and methods in the field of mechanical engineering, to engage in engineering management in the discipline of mechanical engineering, and to possess a good sense of professionalism and innovation.

4. Control Engineering (085406) for Master's Degree

Introduction to Major

Based on the regional characteristics and advantages of Hainan's "Marine", "International Island" and "Free Trade Port", and guided by the action program of the National Strategy of Manufacturing Power, Electronic Information Major of Hainan University aims to serve "Marine Equipment", "Tropical Agriculture", "Healthcare" and other key industries in Hainan Province, and focuses on Hainan University schooling characteristics of "Tropical", "Marine", "Tourism", and "Special Zone". Oriented to marine information sensing, transmission, processing and application technologies, cyberspace security, biological and medical information processing, intelligent services, intelligent control and detection, the major aims to cultivate senior engineering and technical talents engaged in electronic and communication engineering, software engineering and intelligent control.

The major relies on a number of national, provincial and ministerial level research and teaching bases, including State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in South China Sea, Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Internet Information Retrieval, Hainan Provincial Research Center of Marine Communications and Network Engineering Technology, Hainan Provincial Engineering Research Center of Embedded Intelligent Systems, Provincial-Ministerial Collaborative Innovation Centers for Green Wisdom Island, Hainan Provincial Demonstration Center for Electronic Experiment Teaching, and Hainan Provincial Key Laboratory of Big Data and Intelligent Services. It holds distinctive features in research on marine information acquisition, transmission, processing and application.

Training Objectives

We aim to cultivate high-level applied talents who have solid theory foundation, comprehensive quality, strong engineering practice ability, and certain innovation ability for the field of electronic information. The specific requirements are as follows:

(1) Postgraduates pursuing master's degree should grasp solid basic theories and broad professional knowledge in the field of electronic information, and be skilled in advanced technical methods and modern technical means for solving engineering problems.

They should be proficient in a foreign language for reading professional books and journals, and grasp skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing.

They should possess good professional ethics, love the country, and actively serve China's socialist modernization.

5. Agricultural Engineering and Information Technology (095136) for Master's Degree

Training Objectives

The major offers a professional degree linked with the qualification of serving in the field, and mainly cultivates applied, inter-disciplinary and compound high-level talents for technical research, development, application, promotion and management in agricultural informatization and mechanization and other fields, and enterprises and institutions and management departments for new rural development and modern agricultural education.
