Music Performance

Educational objectives

This major is designed to nurture students with a solid foundation in music literacy, music performance skills (singing and playing), and teaching abilities. Following the “four-pronged integration, compliance, and prominence” principle of talent development, the major focuses on integrating theory and practical experience and maintains a commitment to continuous improvement and innovation. The goal is to enhance students’ competitiveness within the music industry by aligning with the demands of economic and social development. Graduates are prepared to excel in a range of professional roles, including music performers, event organizers, and educators in professional performing arts organizations, social and cultural institutions, primary and secondary schools, and art research institutions. The program also places significant emphasis on laying a robust groundwork for the continuous advancement of this major.

Vocal Music, Piano, Instrumental Music (Chinese and Western), Basic Music Theory, Sight Singing and Ear Training, An Introduction to Art, Choral Singing and Conducting, Harmonics, Musical Forms and Work Analysis, Chinese and Western Music History, Music Aesthetics, Appreciation of Chinese and Foreign Music Works, Chinese Traditional Music Theory, and Music Thesis Writing.
