The laboratory is the first national key laboratory at HNU, which conducts research on the protection and utilization of marine resources in the South China Sea, and provides services for China's marine development and Hainan's local economy.
At the Metabolic Biology Laboratory, HNU's researchers introduced the laboratory's current status and the development plan. The base mainly focuses on the scientific cooperation and exchanges in the fields related to ecology and the environment in Hainan province and areas around the South China Sea, and serves the Belt and Road Initiative. It is expected to gather high-end talents from home and abroad in Hainan to better serve the innovation-driven development strategy and the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
