Northeast Asian Youth Camp on Sustainable Development opens at HNU
On Sept 14, the opening ceremony of the 2021 Northeast Asian Youth Camp on Sustainable Development, which is sponsored by the Soong Ching Ling Foundation, South Korea's SK Group and Hainan University (HNU), was held at HNU's International Academic Exchange Center. Thirty-five HNU students from 11 countries and regions participated in the camp.
Hu Zhengyue, vice chairman of the China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, attended the opening ceremony and briefly introduced the foundation. He said that youth are the future of the world and the key force to achieve sustainable development goals. The camp will focus on the theme "Green, Low-Carbon, Sustainable Development", and build a platform for young people from all over the world to understand and participate in sustainable development.
The countries in Northeast Asia are geographically close to China, and they have close cooperation in various fields. Ma Yongxia, vice chairman of the Hainan Provincial Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference expressed her hope at the event that the campers can share ideas with each other during this camp, and contribute to the world's sustainable development.
After a brief introduction of HNU, Fu Xuanguo, Party secretary of HNU also expressed his hope that, through this event, young campers can discover the beauty of Hainan, gain a deeper friendship and grow together through communication.
The opening ceremony of the 2021 Northeast Asian Youth Camp on Sustainable Development is held at HNU's International Academic Exchange Center on Sept 14.
