Academician delivers environmental monitoring speech at HNU

Wang Qiao, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, academician of the International Academy of Astronautics, and researcher at the Ministry of Ecology and Environment Center for Satellite Application on Ecology and Environment, carried out academic exchanges at Hainan University (HNU) from May 21 to 22.

Wang gave an academic report themed around China's progress in terms of monitoring ecological and environmental health using remote sensors. With a group of vivid case studies of environmental monitoring, he showed that innovations in remote sensing technology have made outstanding contributions to China's environmental protection.

Wang encouraged HNU's teachers and students to actively explore and research and make greater contributions to the development of environmental monitoring in China.

Luo Qingming, president of HNU, gave an introduction to HNU with regards to the construction of first-class disciplines. He said he hopes that Wang will give HNU more research guidance and support, and help HNU better serve ecological civilization construction in Hainan province.
