Luo Qingming selected as Hainan sci-tech association chairman
Luo Qingming, president of Hainan University (HNU), has been selected as the chairman of the 6th Committee of the Hainan Association for Science and Technology.
The selection took place during the association's 6th Congress, which was held in Haikou on Jan 6 and 7.

Under Luo's leadership, the association will vigorously develop its tourism, modern services, technology, tropical agriculture, modern seeds, deep-sea science and technology and aviation sectors, and advance the scientific and technological innovation needed to propel the high-quality development of Hainan Free Trade Port.
An academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Luo has long been committed to emerging cross-over disciplines related to biomedical engineering. He has made great achievements in biological structure, functions, and multi-molecular event information acquisition, as well as breakthroughs in the principles and key technology of whole-brain mesoscopic mapping of neural circuits. The whole-brain optical microscopic imaging instrument he invented has contributed to brain science research.
Luo claimed second prize in the National Natural Science Award in 2010 and second prize in the State Technological Invention Award in 2014.
