Luo Qingming delivers speech at Photonics Asia 2020

Luo Qingming, president of Hainan University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, was invited to attend Photonics Asia 2020, which is being broadcast online from Oct 11 to 16.

Liu Xu, secretary-general of the Chinese Optical Society, chaired the opening ceremony on Oct 11. He announced the winners of the 2019 Wang Daheng Optics Award and the newly selected fellows of the Chinese Optical Society.

Gong Qihuang, president of the Chinese Optical Society, and John Greivenkamp, president of the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers, gave opening speeches.

Luo delivered a plenary talk entitled Brain-wide Positioning System for Brainsmatics, while Wang Jianpu from Nanjing Tech University gave a plenary talk entitled Perovskite LEDs: High Efficiency and High Brightness.

Photonics Asia 2020 is hosted by the Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers and the Chinese Optical Society. It showcases the latest research achievements in the fields of advanced photonics, quantum and nonlinear optics, advanced optical imaging, laser processing, biological photonics, plasma photonics, as well as holography.

The conference attracted over 15,000 online viewers on its first day.
