The ancient saying, "Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day, teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime," sums up HNU's philosophy in its poverty alleviation efforts. The university has sent 46 experts to give trainings to 1,393 people in impoverished villages in Wuzhishan, Ledong, Sanya, Chengmai, Qiongzhong, Lin'gao, Baisha, Baoting, and Tunchang since April.
