Hainan University joins Silk Road scholarship program
The Hainan University (HNU) cultivation program of Belt and Road postgraduate students majoring in crop science was recently included in the 2020-2021 Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk Road Program by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education.
The Chinese Government Scholarship-Silk Road Program was established by the Ministry of Education in 2017. It advances China's Double First-Class Initiative to create world-class universities and disciplines while cultivating industrial bellwethers and skilled talents for countries along the Belt and Road.
It is the first time that HNU has been included in the Silk Road Program, an affirmation by the Ministry of Education of the university's international talent cultivation.
HNU was the first university in Hainan to receive international students under the Chinese Government Scholarship program in 2012 and was selected into the second group of demonstration bases for studying in China by the Ministry of Education in 2014. It has now established a comprehensive undergraduate-postgraduate-doctoral cultivation system for international students, especially in advantageous disciplines.
