Hainan University unveils plaque for College of Physical Education
The plaque for the College of Physical Education was unveiled at Hainan University (HNU) on June 15.
Fu Guohua, vice president of HNU, and an executive of the College of Physical Education delivered speeches. They reviewed the prominent achievements that the university has made in the sports sector and outlined its development prospects.
It is expected that the newly established college can carry forward the spirit of sport, while contributing to HNU's goal of becoming a domestically leading university with world-class disciplines, as well as to Hainan Free Trade Port construction.
The plaque unveiling ceremony of HNU's College of Physical Education is held on June 15.
The college, which began enrolling undergraduate students majoring in leisure sports last year, now has more than 70 faculty members and nearly 60 students.
Xu Xianghong, deputy head of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio, Television & Sports of Hainan Province, HNU graduate Xu Yanmei, gold medalist in the women's 10-meter platform diving competition at the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea, Lyu Jianhai, president of the Hainan Football Association, and Zhang Hua, director of the Hainan Provincial Administration of Sporting Events, attended the plaque unveiling ceremony.
