HNU hosts seminar on medical imaging discipline development

Hainan University (HNU) hosted a special seminar on medical imaging discipline development from Jan 2-4 with 15 experts from Peking University, Zhejiang University, the Institute of Automation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, Chinese People's Liberation Army General Hospital, and West China Hospital of Sichuan University in attendance.

This meeting was an expert discussion organized for the National Natural Science Foundation of China project "Research on the Development Strategy of the Medical Imaging Discipline." It was presided by Luo Qingming, president of HNU, who is also an academician from the China Academy of Sciences and head of the Wuhan National Laboratory for Optoelectronics.

After introducing the research results of the project to the participating experts, Luo analyzed the current major problems in the field of medical imaging, as well as organized the experts to discuss the development goals and implementation methods for medical imaging discipline development.

During the meeting, attendees analyzed and classified the 17 research directions for medical imaging previously collected, as well as discussed the codes for the secondary disciplines.
