HNU to enhance cooperation with Russian universities
A delegation of Moscow State University and the Russian Academy of Sciences visited Hainan University on Nov 19 to seek further cooperation.
Victor Fersht from the Center for Applied Medicine and Food Safety of Moscow State University noted that Moscow State University has an edge in disciplines such as food safety, artificial intelligence and marine technology. It hopes to set up relevant research institutes and launch joint doctoral programs with Hainan University through enhanced cooperation.
Meanwhile, Moscow State University is willing to offer linguistic service and support in the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port), said Fersht.

Cao Xianzhong, vice president of Hainan University, pointed out that Hainan University forms part of the national "Double-First Class" Initiative, which aims to build a number of world-class universities and disciplines by the end of 2050. It will put priority on the development of disciplines like biomedicine and marine information technology.
To date, Hainan University has foraged for partnerships with 181 universities in 36 countries and regions. It hopes to enhance exchanges and cooperation with Russian universities for mutual development.
The two sides also held in-depth discussions on the construction of such disciplines as biological chemistry and pharmacy, food safety and artificial intelligence.
