HNU professors assist in big data application lawmaking
The 14th Meeting of the Standing Committee of the 6th People's Congress of Hainan Province approved the Big Data Development and Application Regulations (Draft) compiled by the team of Li Taijun, a professor of Hainan University's College of Information and Communications Engineering.
Other team members include professors from the College of Computer and Cyberspace Security, as well as the College of Law. The compilation of the regulations was based on multiple investigations in Beijing, Shanghai, Zhejiang, and Guizhou. It drew lessons from policies and papers of other regions for reference under the context of the Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port).
Opinions of relevant authorities and the public had been solicited for the regulations, which were approved after two deliberations of the Standing Committee of the 6th People's Congress of Hainan Province. The regulations, which will come into effect on Nov 1, clarifies the industrial layout, orientation, tasks, and ways for big data to help the construction of the Hainan Free Trade Zone (Port).
