HNU offers Cambodian officials agricultural training class
A two-week training class on tropical agricultural economy management for Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries officials was launched at the Haidian campus of Hainan University (HNU) on Sept 16.
Twenty senior management staff members from the Cambodian Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries, Royal University of Agriculture, Prek Leap National College of Agriculture, Kampong Cham National School of Agriculture, as well as the Cambodian Rubber Research Institute attended the class.
Over the training class, they will receive lectures on Sino-Cambodian agricultural trade policies and cooperation, examine China's tropical agricultural industry, scientific development and education, as well as share opinions on Sino-Cambodian cooperation in agricultural science and education.
The Secretary of State of Cambodia's Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries gave an overview of the agricultural development in Cambodia, as well as extended hopes that the officials can bring back advanced knowledge and management experience in agriculture and education to their home country at the launch ceremony.

The training class, which is the second time that it has been held, has helped Cambodia make great breakthroughs in crop output, quality, as well as exports, he noted.
In addition, the Chinese Learning Center set up by HNU at the Royal University of Agriculture has also achieved significant results. It has hosted three phases of Chinese learning classes and four tropical agricultural technique training classes, as well as recommended five Cambodian students to pursue their masters or doctoral degrees at HNU.
